I am somewhat stunned. And excited. And well, stunned. Rosy Toes Designs' Dark and Elegant Felted Alpaca Wristwarmer Cuffs made it into the November issue of Vogue U.K. as one of this season's must have accessories.

These same cuffs were submitted for consideration to the stylist of ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars through The Artisan Group. It's early to hear yet if they've been excepted, but fingers are crossed! I'd love to see these on TV!

I love their edgy bohemian feel!

Never in a million years did I think to see my designs in Vogue. It is wonderful to be recognized and fills my stomach with lots of little butterflies.

The cuffs are knit from a lace weight baby alpaca yarn, felted, and embellished with mulberry swirls.

They are perfect for driving, texting, photography, layering. They are somewhat hour-glassed shaped, so they have a fairly firm fit and don't slide around. They can be custom made with a hole for the thumb.

I love mine!

How cool is that? Yes, really. Rosy Toes Designs will be a part of the official gift lounge for "The 46th Annual CMA Awards" along with other members of The Artisan Group.

I'll be gifting something warm, cozy and available in a rainbow of colors and styles.

Yep, you guessed it! My felted alpaca beanies! You can get one or more of your very own felted alpaca beanies at a discounted rate through November 1! Read on to learn more!

I also want to know what your favorite color(s) are, and your favorite embellishment!

You've heard me mention The Artisan Group before, otherwise known as TAG. It's an amazing group of artisans. You'll find artisans from all genres:  bath and body artisans, painters, graphic artists, creators of pet toys and tutus, and fiber artists and everything in between. This is a juried group. That means that there is a selection process. Not everyone can join.

As a group, we support each other. Share our experiences. Gift to celebrities and press at major gifting events, as well as to individual celebrities. It can be a really great way to get your name out there and your product in the hands of those who might not otherwise see it.

This time, TAG was lucky enough to be selected by The Country Music Association to participate in the official gift lounge for "The 46th Annual CMA Awards!" A first time event for our group of artists, and absolutely amazing! If you are not familiar with the CMA Awards, here's a little info directly from them.

The first “CMA Awards Banquet and Show” was held in 1967. The following year, the CMA Awards was broadcast on NBC Television for the first time – making it the longest running, annual music awards program on network television. The Awards aired on NBC through 1971, on the CBS Television Network from 1972 through 2005, and has aired on ABC since 2006. ABC will be the network home of the CMA Awards through 2021.

Who comes to the gift lounge? The musicians, of course. And then select members of the press. Would you like to take a peak at last year's lounge. I'm so excited to be getting my beanies into the hands of these talented musical artists!

I've chosen to participate at two levels. Each musician and member of the press will receive on of my business cards with a special incentive to shop at Rosy Toes Designs.

I also gifted 35 members of the press my felted knit alpaca beanies, available in slouchy lightweight and skully mid-weight styles. As well as embellished and solids. It was not an easy decision. I wavered between a small pouch or beanies. I figured if any crowd would be into some awesomely soft and beautiful hats, it would be this one.

I'm offering them for pre-sale introductory price now, at a special rate of $55 for the solids and $60 for the embellished (daisies, hibiscus or flying hearts). Introductory rate will last until November 1, 2012. November 2, it will revert to the original prices of $70/$75.

THICK RIB WOOL/SILK FINGERLESS MITTEN $40
For many reasons I have decided to say goodbye to my Etsy shop, Seasons Of Wool. I opened Seasons Of Wool in 2009. It was a wonderful place to learn about art as a business and to grow my craft/art. I met a lot of great people on etsy and established relationships with customers. It was the perfect place for me to start.

Since then, my business has grown and I have changed gears. My focus has changed a bit and I've fine tuned where it is I want my business to go. I've changed my business name to Rosy Toes Designs. I felt like I couldn't really grow on etsy like I wanted to. Like I couldn't really take my business where I wanted to take it. I didn't want to be a part of the pack anymore.

So, in June of this year, I opened Rosy Toes Designs with a focus on high end felted wool messenger bags, recycled sweater blankets (cuddle-ups), recycled silk pouches and luxury fashion accessories crafted from felted alpaca. I'm happy with where things are going and have been putting a lot of time and energy into marketing my new brand, not to mention a bit of money. I will be unveiling some BIG news soon!

In short, I want to focus on Rosy Toes Designs. This is where my heart and passion lies. This is where my energy is.

TO DESTASH YARN AND PRODUCTS THAT I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO MOVE OVER TO ROSY TOES DESIGNS, I WILL BE HAVING VARIOUS SALES AND PROMOTIONS IN MY SEASONS OF WOOL SHOP UNTIL IT CLOSES ON OCTOBER 31. I WILL BE POSTING THE SALES AS THEY OCCUR BOTH ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE, MY TWITTER ACCOUNT, AND HERE ON MY BLOG. THE SALES WILL RUN UNTIL THE PRODUCT IS GONE OR I AM OUT OF THE YARN TO CREATE THE ITEM.

SOME SALES WILL BE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS, SOME WILL BE DISCOUNTS STORE WIDE.

TODAY I HAVE OPENED UP ALL MY WOOL/SILK FINGERLESS GLOVES, AS WELL AS 1 PAIR OF ALPACA CUFFS. THEY ARE PRICED 20%-40% OFF ORIGINAL RETAIL PRICE.

THOSE PICTURED ARE NOT THE ONLY STYLES OR COLORS AVAILABLE.

Blogging: Getting the Word Out

Blogging: Getting the Word Out

Blogging is one of those things that, as a small business owner, especially of a web-based business, that you either are good at, or have to work had at getting good. It is both necessary for expanding your client base and for getting the interest of other professionals in your field.

Here's the link  "30 Ways To Promote Your Blog Posts" infographic I was lucky enough to find in my inbox this morning from Launch Grow Joy and Andrea Ayers, then I'll tell you why it was so very timely. I can't figure out how to get a good image, so here you go...
30-ways-to-promote-your-blog-posts

I will be the first to admit, I am not a very consistent blogger. Or very good at marketing my blogs. It is something I am getting better at, but something I definitely have to work at. It's not that I can't think of anything to write. It's a matter of time. At the moment, it is just me. I do all my product design and creation, I take the pictures of said products, market them, maintain my website, take care of the family, volunteer at my kids' school, walk the dogs, can the garden produce (strawberry blackberry pear jelly at the moment), cook from scratch, maintain a social media presence, blog... You get the idea. Add to that my very busy and hectic order/work season that lasts from about Sept. 1 through February, you have one busy business owner! Oh, and did I forget to mention my increased advertisements, giveaways and reviews with bloggers to help increase traffic to this new website/shop/blog, and growth push?

I have come to learn that in the blogging world, it's not quantity, but quality that matters so much. I don't need to write a ton, I just need to be consistent. And then market the heck out of it. That is where things kind of fall apart. This infographic from Andrea Ayers over at Launch Grow Joy, I hope, will help me spearhead my efforts and make my marketing more efficient. Leaving more time for designing and creating. Which is, after all, where my true love and passions lie.

If you blog, I'd love to hear about your blogging struggles and how you deal with them, as well as your blogging triumphs! And if you are a business owner I'd love to hear why you choose to blog or not to blog.
