I met Carrie through a mutual artist friend and we quickly realized that we could each benefit the other. I was looking for fiber and yarn. She was looking for a designer to create things for her from her fiber. I just got my first batch of yarn from her and can't wait to begin creating for my own shop! I am busy designing and creating a new line just for this amazing yarn! You can expect to see cuffs, wraps and shawls in natural colors of alpaca (it comes in 22 natural colors recognized by the textile industry!) appear in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I am creating a number of products for Carrie - shawls and wraps, pouches, hats, ear bands and hair bands and more. She'll be bringing them with her to various shows she attends around the country, and eventually stock her farm shop with (when it is up and running).
I was lucky enough to be able to visit her ranch a couple of weeks ago and meet her herd and visit the mill. Blessed Criations Alpaca Ranch is located in Somerville Ohio and is the larges alpaca ranch in Preble County. Carrie and her husband Robbie are experts in the realm of alpaca husbandry, genetics, shearing and spinning. They are also excited about their craft, their animals, and genuinely enjoy what they do.
I am absolutely thrilled about the direction we are taking!
